Mozilla, The UE and Google: The Tatayet Syndrome.
Each time I think of the Mozilla folks, I think of Tatayet
.
Tatayet, for my non French readers, was a very famous puppet in France, very entertaining.
In a weekend blog post, Mozilla Foundation chairwoman Mitchell Baker
attacks Microsoft and announces her desire to participate in the European antitrust proceedings.
She wants to help !
The problem is that:
- 85% of Mozilla’s whooping 70M$ revenues come from Google.
- 90% of Mitch Baker’s 500 000+ $ salary come from Google.
I strongly question her integrity and her subjectivity in that very case. Who is she serving exactly ? Her #1 client , or her foundation / The Internet (as she pretends) ?
This is a very nice trick, as fun as as joke from Tatayet. I might be wrong, but I feel like M.baker is acting like a puppet here. it’s too big to be credible.
We all know that if Mozilla was an independent entity, they would incorporate Ad Blocking features by default in FF.
PS: If I was Mitch baker, i’d do the exact same thing. you don’t want to argue with such a large customer.
